Crocker's Rules
tl;dr:
Named after Lee Daniel Crocker, these rules are basically giving permission for people to send messages without the fluff in front. If you have ever worked in IT, specifically on a helpdesk, then you’ll have had an exchange similar to this:
User: hello You: hi User: can you help me with something? You: sure whats up?
Whereas if both people were playing by Crocker’s rules it would go something like this:
User: My Outlook isn’t working please can you take a look
Simple, straight to the point, very efficient.
Now if only we can get users to file tickets instead of sending Teams messages.
Edit: There is a far better explaination of Crocker’s Rules here.
