Server build - Part II
tl;dr:
which hypervisor are you?
I’ve been playing around with servers for close to ten years, and computers even longer than that. Hypervisors even less, perhaps five years, and despite my wandering over that time between TrueNAS, UNRAID, and some more exotic hypervisors; I have always returned to Proxmox.
For one, it is based on Debian Linux which I am familiar with. And another, is that it has an Open Source flavouring with an optional subscription to get enterprise-level security and OS updates.
Oh, and I just am generally comfortable using it.
Initially I considered loading TrueNAS on bare metal but I may go the more extreme route and virtualise TrueNAS. Or maybe not, we shall see.
